The melodies are the chorus are pretty much the same.
Only the line "His bonny on the side" line is similar to PWYC.
The rest song is completely different to PWYC, especially the flawless harmonic progression in the chorus which PWYC does not have. The instrumentation, timbre, and mood are also completely different, so people need to cut it with the "they sound the same" ********
All my exams and work stuff got me out of the album news recently but today I finally got home and had the chance to listen in full. It's the most amazing summer album. My favorite tracks:
- Ultraviolence: I was really curious how the title track would turn out and it didn't let me down. Her bridges are usually the highlights of the songs but this one is LIFE!!!!!! One of the best she's ever created!
- Money, Power, Glory: I'm kinda scared when it comes to Kurstin. He has highs but deep lows, too, you never know what you get. This one is perfect. The production flows really nice and the vocals in the chorus are heavenly. This could be this record's Video Games, I really hope it will be a single one day.
- ****ed My Way Up To The Top: Pure sex. I don't need to say anything else.
- Old Money: So so so beautiful. Especially the verses. It totally breaks my heart.
- The Other Woman: Her covers are always flawless. Blue Velvet, Once Upon A Dream, Chelsea Hotel No 2 have always had a special place in my heart. This one will join them.
- Flipside: In which retro jukebox did she find this tune? I'm in love. Deserved a place on the standard edition.
- I'm not sure about Black Beauty. The version we've got so far were better imo. It had that minimal production and that dreamy vocals. The new version fits better to the style of album but its vibe has lost the spark. I think I'll replace the album version with the old one, but BB is still the best song of UV, probably one of her best song ever created. I keep my lips red to same to seem like cherries in the spring. Darling, you can't let everything seem so dark blue this line always gets me.
It is a really strong effort. Born To Die is untouchable for some personal reasons so I'm really glad she went on a different route. UV is more cohesive and has stronger atmosphere.

I really love the line and I don't even know why Maybe because it reminds me of Game of Thrones
Anyway this album is definitely a GROWER. Its growing on me everyday and it just gets better. I love how she and her sound evolved. I'm a stan since 2011 and BTD & Paradise are still her best bodies of work (imo) but another record full of Americans, Body Electrics or Video Games would have been boring and would have sounded so manufactured.
