Some of y'all Negative Nancys up in this thread tho.
Let's focus on the positives tbh.
-Gave Taylor two of the biggest hits of her career: "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", which became her first #1 single, and "I Knew You Were Trouble.", which peaked at #2.
-Gave Taylor the record for the 2nd highest digital sales week ever (623,000 copies of "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" sold), and the highest digital sales week ever for a female artist.
-"We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" broke the record for the fastest rise to #1 on iTunes, reaching the top spot in 50 minutes
-Got tied with Speak Now as Taylor's most acclaimed album.
-Got nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammys.
-Sold over 1.2 million copies in the US in it's first week, becoming the album with the 6th highest first-week sales ever, the 2nd highest first-week sales for a female artists (only behind Britney Spears), and Taylor's 2nd consecutive album to sell a million copies in it's first week.
-Is the 3rd highest selling album released in 2012, with 5.6 million copies sold WW since it's release in October 2012. It's only behind Bruno Mars' Unorthodox Jukebox (6.2 million copies sold) and P!nk's The Truth About Love (5.9 million copies sold).
-Gave her 4 more Hot 100 top 10s ("We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", "Begin Again", "I Knew You Were Trouble.", and "Red"), and 10 more top 40s (those listed + "State of Grace", "22", "Ronan", "Everything Has Changed", "Highway Don't Care", and "Sweeter than Fiction") to her name.
-Helped her become more global, at least singles-wise (Seriously, compare the peaks of the singles from Red to any of her pre- Red singles that aren't "Mine", "Love Story", or "You Belong With Me")
Any more receipts? I'm sure there's tons more.

We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together? 22? Everything Has Changed?
And it happened to be a huge era. All those milestones achieved and records broken. The controversy came from the backlash of her dating life and people bagged on her more than any other era of hers.

tbh
I'm gonna miss the daily meltdowns over nothing. RED sounds so fresh, I still bop daily to RED, SOG, SBT
But can't wait for the new album. She never disappoints, I know she is going to deliver another flawless piece of art
