S&M was at #3 on the Hot 100 before the remix featuring Britney Spears was released. So, do you personally count the S&M remix as the fifth #1 for Britney? Yes or no? Half of a #1? Discuss.

I count any remix released to iTunes before the single peak, especially if the single peaks the week after the remix is released. A remix gives additional sales, radio spins, and streams to help the original version, so regardless of if the single peaks the next week or five weeks later... It helps lol.

So, yes.

It went to #1 off of the back of Britney's remix. She took the song to #1 and therefore she should be credited along side Rihanna for it.

Yes, in this case... Why? Cause Britney was the one who helped it get to #1. S&M was slaying but I believe it was stuck at #2?? It was being cockblocked by E.T (Katy & Kanye). Once the remix was released was released,S&M got more attention in general, so people bought the one original version and the one with Britney.

But for other songs w/ collabs like Fancy, I wouldn't say Charli got a #1 just because Charli was already on the original track, whereas Britney was added on later and cause of the remix being added, Britney helped S&M go #1. Idk if yall see my point
