Russell Brand has revealed that MTV wants him to return to host next year's Video Music Awards.

Despite Brand's controversial compering of the ceremony, which included jokes about the Jonas Brothers' virginity and George Bush, the comic told The Sun that the show had impressive ratings.

"MTV told me they want me to do it again. Afterwards they were really thrilled. There was a 20% increase in viewers from last year's show and wow, isn't life exciting?"

However, Brand confessed that he found hosting duties difficult and hadn't yet agreed to MTV's offer.

He said: "The VMAs are the hardest thing I have ever done and I will think very carefully before accepting their kind offer of doing it again.

"I spent a lot of time suppressing the urge to scream a career-ending remark during the show. The knowledge that you could say something that would make the world go nuts was difficult."

This show had everything going against it for me to even watch it, first you have a host telling us to Vote for Obama (The wrong guy for president), they have Kobe "Pompous, Overrated Rapist" Bryant present the last award, and even worse, they have the show in Los Angeles as opposed to New York where it should stay at all times. L.A. gets the Movie Awards, and New York should always get the Music Awards. It's common sense, L.A. is the Film city, while NY is the Music city.
