Exactly. If anything I wish they'd have waited until Thirsty was an official single to launch it but promo is promo. It'd be good for the album.

I'm starting to think that they're probably releasing YDKWTD as an official single and will strongly push it but use Thirsty for the commercial so the album sales will be rise due to both aspects. That'd be a good plan. Hopefully they do that and don't **** anything up.

I agree. Promo is promo and it makes doing the beverage worth it. I think the curated site is going to link to the album anyway and that could be another way to garner sales. I'm personally here for this. We're finally getting a commercial. I have a feeling more things are coming down the line.

You make it work and no one cares if the song is not completely literal to the product being sold. A cute summery commercial with MC rollerskating on the boardwalk and sipping the drink while YDKWTD is playing in the background would be 100% perfect. Instead they're using a ratchet song that is going to appeal to far fewer people and that even the lambs are torn about Can you imagine anyone releasing a new single and putting out a commercial around the same time that features a random album track that isn't the single? No. Just this messy team.

He basically says that she wants things to go her way by letting people hear the album as a whole. He says that they are not concerned with the low opening week because it is often the case that some albums go on to sell millions. The silver lining is that there seems to be a plan in place after all. Let's hope and pray that it isnt too late and that it works.

What I don't understand about his whole explanation is that there were five songs from the album that were available for the GP to hear before the album was released. With that many songs out, the album was never going to be heard as a complete body of work. Not including the bonus tracks, there were only 11 songs to hear AND the album was previewed on iTunes first listen.

It's not like the album was just dropped out of the sky with no preview.

I wish they would just own up to the album having a messy release and let the fans know that they have a plan to promote it on the back end.
