An Alabama woman trying to teach her 19-year-old niece a lesson about inviting online strangers over to her home ended up uncovering the girl’s sinister plot to hire a hit man for her murder.
According to court records filed Tuesday, Marissa Williams lived with her aunt, who was displeased about Miss Williams inviting online strangers over to her house, AL.com reported.
The aunt created a fake Facebook profile of a man in order to track her niece’s antics. The two quickly became friends and on the first day they interacted online, Miss Williams gave the fictional man her phone number and home address, offering him alcohol and sex, AL.com reported.
Miss Williams admitted to the plot but said she wasn’t serious. She was charged with the solicitation of murder and remains at Tuscaloosa County Jail pending a $30,000 bond, AL.com reported.
