Lizards are manageable. I mean, some are kind of cute and I can hold them without getting too freaked out. Cockroaches are just nasty and have TEW many legs for me.
I think I officially decided I loathed cockroaches when I was trying to sleep on my couch one night and was disturbed by a tickle around my waist. I ignored it, but felt it again in my arm pit a minute later, grabbed whatever it was, then pushed it out of my shirt to find out it was a cockroach. I burned the shirt afterwards.

My condolences for you. A cockroach flew and almost landed on my head when I was young. Since then, I had phobias of them
