YouTube seems like a very short-term career. Once you lose your audience. you are NOTHING. Look at Chris Crocker for an example. In other words, that money will eventually run out...

They all know that. Some of them started companies, are writing books, directing/starring in movies, and doing a lot of other things to make sure they will be financially safe. Most of the big ones will be fine.

7 million dollars is more than enough for one person in one lifetime, but they earn that in a year or so, it's crazy they would make that much. They could quit now and live life pretty well with 7 million.

Chris Crocker got really messy, though, with his attitude and starring in **** & all that. It wasn't a suprise when he hit a decline. I'm sure a good majority of my faves won't have that happen to them.

That's an extremely small population. There are many YouTubers that make money but don't make millions (instead, they make a couple hundred thousand). They will be the ones that will get ****ed over and become washed up. Nash Grier in 10 years will not be a pretty sight...

I don't believe those numbers tbh. The really big ones like pewdiepie probably make a lot (at least 150k a year) but there's a lot of different factors to consider.

Advertising/sponsorship, especially for ones who generates tons of views, is a lucrative pursuit.

Yeah, I thought Tyler would be on the list but I'm sure he's making good money. Plus, he has other expenditures outside of YT, but would not have been possible without it. I know he gets asked to host red carpets.

With product placement and invitations to MagCon, it's quite the moneymaker.

But there are a few other things to consider. Like how many viewers use Adblock, what the rate for a different advert is, do they still get paid if you skip an advert, if the are paying off other people to help with production etc.

I have no problem believing that the really big ones earn a lot I don't believe they earn millions a year. Just look at their houses.
