I know as Britney stan you're not used to well-written music that has a certain theme and artists who play instruments and perform little choreography and still manage to entertain, but these artists can be as iconic as any popstar. And believe me, by the end of her career, Taylor would have left much more impact on music than Britney.

One Direction is kinda like a talentless version of Backstreet Boys. Like them, 1D is kinda unknown by many demographics and most people above the age of 30+ won't even be able to recognize a song by them. Bieber will outlast them.

And the girls here pretend using TEA for digital era albums is fair when comparing them to 90s/early 00s albums when an era would need to sell like 2-3 million digital tracks a week to even keep up with Rainbow (which wasn't even close to the most successful album of that year)

What do you want? Taylor doesn't have scandals, doesn't receive attention for her outfits because she doesn't dress in anything outrageous and doesn't wear wigs. You might have a point in the dull performances part, but other than that, what I said was pretty much correct.
You seem to be bothered though. Hmm, since when do you stan for Britney? Seems like the Adele stanning was just a disguise for the sake of credibility

I do wonder if the current youngsters will view One Direction like 90s kids view Backstreet Boys and NSYNC in 10 years time. They have more than a little in common. They also have bigger chart hits than BSB or NSYNC ever did.

Tay is a bit of an attention-seeking prostitute but she is a better songwriter than Adele.

Remember when Shakira sold out with her 20m WW selling Laundry Service but then came back with a Rick Rubin executive produced, critically acclaimed, 79 on Metacritic, a Grammy, 3 Latin Grammys, back-to-roots Spanish comeback? and everyone was over JLo?
|
Yes
Shakira always ahead of JaiLo

Huh, surely The Backstreets Boys had way bigger hits (N Sync too, in the US only)

Rainbow was like the 30th top album of 2000.
I read somewhere 2000 had 100 albums that did above 1,000,000 (in US) and nowadays it's barely 10.

I can not wait for Tina's album but I don't know I feel like it might be a really typical debut album with a low budget, obvious singles, and a lot of filler tracks.

Some people still make "who will outlast who" predictions. Life should be a leason learned

Not really. I mean look at the big jump after Celine in 99 and Linkin Park in 00.

1D's chart peaks are frontloaded and most of them aren't actual hits
|
What Makes You Beautiful outsold, outairplayed, and outlasted every BSB and NSYNC single. I'm pretty sure it had a more impressive chart run too.

1D doesn't feel as big as they used to be
This is probably their most successful era but I remember them having a much bigger presence before
