Why not? She got pitched for singing Whitney houston and her demo track was an unused Toni Braxton song. She could have. I can say the same about Anybody elses fave. Do you think if Beyonce was hideous people would buy songs like Baby Boy and Partition from her? We would have had Kelly Rowland instead.

Jennifer Lopez. She isn't really known for her music or movies. She is more about looks/fashion etc

The difference is, Beyonce can also do songs like Halo and Listen, which are extremely remembered parts of her discography. People voting for her (looks + vocals) over Britney (looks + no vocals) are clearly biased (poll should have been public tbh, i think I know which fanbase we would be able to attribubte the majority of Beyonce's votes to ).

Well the ones whose songs/videos/performances sell sex/sexiness wouldn't be able to, so...

All of 1D, Justin Bieber and Justin TImberlake. You all know it is true! The power of school-girl crushes result in the boyband phenomena that demonstrates that looks (and lust) alone can support careers.

All the Disney girls like Britney, Miley, Selena and Ariana etc all famous because they were on TV shows for Disney and they were only cast on those shows because they were cute. How many unattractive kids get major roles on Disney shows? Probably zero. I am not saying these people are untalented (except for 1D obviously), but looking cute or hot was instrumental in their success. Other kids did not make the cut because they were deemed too fat, ugly, pimply, average looking etc. when compared with Selena, Miley etc.

Can you name them? I'm curious.

Well songs like Independent Women, Say My Name, Bills, Bills Bills, Bug-a-Boo, etc. that set her up all benefited from sexuality yet were not dependant on it like Baby One More Time, Oops, Slave 4 U, etc. As for Beyonce's solo career Baby Boy could have still been a hit, it had Sean Paul on it after all. Crazy in Love is just a marvellous song and I don't think it would have mattered that Beyonce looked hot in the video.

Yes, you could say the same about anybody else's fave but it doesn't make as much sense. Beyonce can just stand in one spot and slay with her vocals and stage presence, regardless of what she looked like. Also while there are a lot of R&B divas that are gorgeous, there are a lot who are not marketed for their looks. I think R&B is a more forgiving genre than pop. It's a lot more focused on talent.

Halo and Listen (from an ancient musical and then a movie) are not as rememebred as any single from Dangerously in love. And we were talking about when they were signed. If Beyonce didn't use her looks and sex appeal with Dangerously in love it would have flopped. They both could have gone a different route and be famous is what I am saying but without their looks neither would have made songs like Slave 4 U and Naughty girl into hits. they would have to go completely different routes. Why is this so hard to understand and for your info I voted for Katy.
