Well songs like
Independent Women, Say My Name, Bills, Bills Bills, Bug-a-Boo, etc. that set her up all benefited from sexuality yet were not dependant on it like
Baby One More Time, Oops, Slave 4 U, etc. As for Beyonce's solo career
Baby Boy could have still been a hit, it had Sean Paul on it after all.
Crazy in Love is just a marvellous song and I don't think it would have mattered that Beyonce looked hot in the video.
Yes, you could say the same about anybody else's fave but it doesn't make as much sense. Beyonce can just stand in one spot and slay with her vocals and stage presence, regardless of what she looked like. Also while there are a lot of R&B divas that are gorgeous, there are a lot who are not marketed for their looks. I think R&B is a more forgiving genre than pop. It's a lot more focused on talent.
