LittleBigPlanet 3 | Early Beta Confirmed For Next Month
Quote:
Three is a magic number but in terms of playable layers it is no longer the law. Sony at E3 2014 has just announced LittleBigPlanet 3, an evolution from its predecessors featuring more tools, playable characters and layers to build upon. Join Sackboy and friends in this charming adventure as they take on the Evil Newton... presumable with a creatinator filled with apples!
1. It's both a PS3 and a PS4 title. (details to be revealed later on the latter)
2. Three additional player characters have been revealed:
Oddsock - A wall jumping creature that is said to be slightly faster than our traditional protagonist.
Toggle - A character resembling clay who is strong but can shrink and float on water.
Swoop - A bird creature who can fly.
It is unknown at this time whether these are select-able defaults or an evolution of sack-bot customization but they are said to be fully editable.
3. New power-ups such as the Pumpinator - a leaf blower like device.
4. Fluid movement on the Z axis and considerably more layers but retaining the classic 2.5D style by default. Bounce-pads appear that have a setting to put you in certain layers.
5. All 8.5 million levels from LittleBigPlanet 1 and LittleBigPlanet 2 will be returning with improved graphics - 1080p
Sackboy (or Sackgirl) is the name of the generic avatar in LittleBigPlanet.
ODDSOCK
Quote:
Oddsock has the ability to wall jump, has more agility and is much more faster than Sackboy.
TOGGLE
Quote:
Toggle is without a doubt the biggest and strongest of the new characters and has the ability to push and move blocks without any hassle, he can also become the smallest character with the touch of the button and can easily go into small spaces.
SWOOP
Quote:
Swoop can fly and has the ability to carry characters to higher and lower places.

This post WILL be updated in the next few days as we have more renders, images and artwork.
the fact that this is not made by Media Molecule and also available for PS3 makes it more of a LBP2.5 than a true sequel from what we've seen so far
I need to see more gameplay before deciding if it's worthy to even be called LBP3 since the only differences were the layers, characters and the powerup.
Our LittleBigPlanet 3 Private Beta will be beginning next month and we have hand-picked a small number of you brilliantly creative folks to participate!
What this means is that we will be contacting our selected community creators over the next couple of weeks via your favourite fansite’s Private Message inbox to extend an invitation to the LittleBigPlanet 3 Private Beta.
Please be aware that space for this Private Beta is incredibly limited and only a small number of you will actually receive an invitation, however we thought it would be better than you hear about this Private Beta directly from us than just through the grapevine.
So please don’t be discouraged if you didn’t get chosen this time around…
We still have plenty of news to share with everyone between now and release! And we certainly won’t forget you all!
Looking forward to hearing back from some of you fantastic creators soon!
Looks like that only the people who use LBP fansites will be picked
