Britney's VMA Media Coverage: The Press Are Going Crazy!!

And I wasn't the only one, She had at least two bodyguards watching over her the whole time. At one point a fan tried to approach her but one of the guys gently told him to beat it.
Taylor Swift got better treatment, however, and just walked over to chat with Brit, who then posed for pics and gabbed with the Jonas Brothers. Britney gave a hug and kiss to her former bodyguard, Big Rob, who now works for the Jonas Brothers.
Even though Britney won her first VMA early in the show for best female video (and two more later) she seemed pretty mellow over all.
After the show, Britney took a walk through the lot to Stage 11 where the press was waiting for her. As she walked through, she was like the piper piper....press and fans were following her like mice...and more and more people kept joining the herd that was following her. If was a like a fairy tale, but one that ended abruptly.
One moment she was getting touched up in a make up mirror just outside the press area…and then she was gone, whisked into a photo-only area where no pesky questions could be asked. Who could blame her for that (besides me, of course). She looked fab, kept it together and seems like she's getting her career back on the good foot.

Spears then playfully stuck out her tongue, and Rihanna hit the stage and performed her hit "Disturbia."
After a quick opening by host Russell Brand -- he urged the crowd, "Please elect Barack Obama," and called President Bush a "retarded cowboy fella" -- Spears returned to the stage again to collect her first ever "moonman" for Best Female Video for "Piece of Me."
"I'm speechless. Oh, my goodness, thank you!" an elated Spears told the crowd. "I first wanna thank God for blessing me like this. My family ... my two beautiful boys for inspiring me everyday."
She later took home the award for Best Pop Video, saying she was "speechless" and thanking her longtime manager, Larry Rudolph.
She closed out the night by winning Video of the Year.
"I'm in shock right now," she said. "I want to dedicate this to all my fans."

With that, the pop star was gone, ceding the stage to a futuristic-looking Rihanna, who launched into her hit "Disturbia" with a goth-themed entourage touting glow sticks and leather.
Moments later, Spears was back to accept her first VMA ever.
Nominated for 16 Moonmen in the past, the pop star nabbed best female video for her song "Piece of Me." A grateful Spears gave a brief speech, thanking God for "just blessing me like this," calling out her two sons and dedicating the award to her fans. "This is for you," Spears said.
And her fans were everywhere Sunday night. Haley Williams from Paramore saw Spears backstage and was overheard remarking to a bandmate, "Man, Britney looks really pretty."
Host Russell Brand seemed to stun the audience with his high-minded, political comedy, making jokes at the expense of President George Bush ("In England, George Bush wouldn't be trusted with a pair of scissors") and remarks about nominees the Jonas Brothers and their purity rings.
Second award of the night went to Chris Brown – best male video for his "With You" video.
One unique factor about this year's show: The diversity of performance spots. The Jonas Brothers offered a stripped down, acoustic version of their song "Love Bug" on a city street set, before launching into an electric finale on a stage that was mobbed by adoring teenage fans.
Rockers Paramore performed from legendary rock club Whisky A Go Go, but were bested by Linkin Park for best rock video honors.

Presenters also wowed the crowd. Among them: Demi Moore, Lindsay Lohan, Miley Cyrus, Ciara, Olympic champion swimmer Michael Phelps and the cast of High School Musical 3. The format was very different, as artists performed at various venues throughout the Paramount lot, with the theater as the main stage. Linkin Park's Joe Hahn said, "The vibe inside is great. And I love DJ AM and Travis Barker as the house band."
Hip-hop artist Kanye West, who famously vowed last year never to appear on the awards show again after failing to win, went back on his word. West, who even made fun of the tantrum he threw backstage last year on an episode of Saturday Night Live, was the closing act.
Before the broadcast, the signature MTV VMAs circus overtook the red carpet. T-Pain, in a bright red leather top hat and jacket, arrived riding an elephant, surrounded by clowns and acrobats. Members of the band Tokio Hotel drove up in a giant monster truck.
Veterans were just as excited as newcomers. "I'm excited to see everyone," said producer Jermaine Dupri. "I think it will be better than last year's."

Rihanna was the first performer at the 25th anniversary event, racing through "Disturbia" surrounded by dancers seemingly straight out of Michael Jackson's "Thriller." Kanye West closed the show by performing a new song, "Love Lockdown," expected to appear on his next album. The as-yet-untitled set is due by year's end via Def Jam.
Other performances, several of which took place on sets outside on the Paramount lot, were turned in by T.I. (first on his current Hot 100 No. 1 hit "Whatever You Like" and then with Rihanna on the new "Live Your Life"), Paramore, Perry (covering Madonna's "Like a Virgin") and Pink.
English comedian Brand peppered his commentary with off-color jokes about the Jonas Brothers' virginity, Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's family life and Madonna's alleged affair with baseball star Alex Rodriguez. Presenter Jordin Sparks took exception to Brand's repeated joking about the Jonas Brothers' purity rings, saying that "not everybody wants to be a ****."

Ah, that's what I was missing  Thanks for that.
Still watching on repeat so have not seen Christina doing her GaGa impersonation but am looking forward to it

Otro año y otra oportunidad para la cantante Britney Spears, que volvió a la ceremonia anual de entrega de los premios MTV a lo mejor de los videos musicales.
Spears se presentó sin mayor complicación al comienzo de la entrega de los premios para recibir su primer ''Hombre de la Luna'', la figura de los reconocimientos.
La cantante ganó el premio al mejor video de artista femenina y el mejor video pop, los dos por su canción ''Piece of Me''.
Dio las gracias brevemente, pero eso fue suficiente para que la gente se pusiera de pie y la ovacionara, mucho antes de que dijera cualquier palabra.
''Muchas gracias'', dijo. ''Gracias por todo el amor''.
Quizá el público estaba emocionado por el breve vistazo de Britney, que se veía estupenda una vez más.
La artista pop llevaba un mini vestido plateado que realzaba su esbelta figura.
Completamente distinta al año pasado y su desastrosa presentación, considerada por muchos una de las peores en la historia de los premios MTV, que en esta ocasión suman 25 entregas.
Por su parte, el cantante Chris Brown, que ganó el premio al mejor artista masculino por su canción ''With You'', escribió ''Disturbia'', la canción que Rihanna _que se rumora es su novia_ cantó en la entrega de los premios.
El cantante y compositor también trabaja en la creación de melodías para Spears, que posiblemente grabará, según afirmó.
''De hecho he escrito un par de canciones para ella'', dijo Brown, pero aclaró que Spears aún no ha escuchado estas nuevas canciones.
''Estamos en el mismo sello discográfico, así que todos los gerentes escuchan las grabaciones y les gustan mucho... esperamos que ella las pueda grabar'', dijo.
