What do you think guys? After hearing the vocals and seeing a specific name on the background vocals credits it's already obvious to me.

Listen to Emotions, alone that snippet it shows that Jennifer Lopes vocals were probably like -24.7dB on the final master.

This is nothing new. Christina Milian used to sing her backing vocals back in the day. The most obvious was for her hit song Play.
