I think she thought it would be iconic though. I mean, she made it sound like she was wearing clothes that made her fly when it was 6 giant propellor fans with a harness hanging down from them.
And I can't really imagine it generating that much public interest when this just seemed like any other random bit of celebrity news on a Tuesday afternoon back in February:
I mean, it's Kate Upton...in a bikini...in zero gravity. And people were just like "cool, boobs in space."
Plus these sorts of things are now so expected of Gaga that no one really cares. I mean, the horse at the AMAs should have had the entire world talking. In fact 5-10 years ago, it would have, and it would have become an iconic moment in pop culture history. But what did everyone end up talking about from that night? Miley Cyrus performing in front of a giant kitten and Katy Perry's alleged cultural appropriation of Japanese geishas.
It's just my opinion. I think the meat dress was her peak and now people just expect this from her so it's neither shocking nor interesting anymore. That being said, I don't know the future. I could be wrong

It's just my opinion.
