Madonna has done it.
But that's not how it works. They don't "change" anything. What happens is that instead of putting out 13,000 tickets (full capacity) to sell, they put out, say 4,000. If those 4,000 tickets sell then they put up another 4,000. They keep doing this until no more tickets are being bought. That way no matter what is sold. the tickets have technically sold 100% of what was offered. You guys who keep thinking arena capacity equates to how many tickets should be sold are naive and don't understand how it works.

I don't understand what this has to do with Madonna.
Anyways, you're right. That's what happens but again, it still comes back to integrity. If the 64 percent thing is true from this very sketchy source, good on her for reporting the true numbers.

What people don't understand is that billboard don't have people sitting at the gates of a show counting attendance. Billboard is official but it's a REPORTING agency. It doesn't "investigate" They REPORT what's told to them by the artists management. etc
So you know what, if Katy did only sell 64 percent of tickets - good on her for owning up to it and reporting it. There's nothing worse than an artist that changes the capacity of their show so they can get the words "sold out" from billboard.

Madonna did it, and so did everyone.
Katy will probably do it, Gaga will probably do it. Everyone.

Again, we have to wait and see for the official receipts.

It's not a big deal. Gaga's done it. Madonna's done it. If there are open seats, tickets can be given away. The show not being cancelled despite poor sales mean the show still profited.

I bought tickets for Gaga's Birmingham show, it sold out in minutes.

Due to the high demand she added a 2nd date which is also doing well.
Buy a ticket to that show too and experience not only the touring act of this generation but the ARTIST of this generation TWICE.

Yes, Gaga is almost a legendary touring act, it would mean a complete end of her career if she got outgrossed by Katy.

Because you're being hypocritical as always.
"She" isn't reporting anything, it's AEG, which counts tickets differently than Livenation. There is nothing to "commend" when it's simply a case of companies doing things differently.

And why are you confident that those receipts are incorrect?

... I wouldn't believe any major act would only have 4k people show up to their show.

Well tbh I'll probably buy a ticket for Newcastle if there are any left nearer the show, seeing as she announces a show in my city months after I buy a ticket for Birmingham.

If that'd happened someone would've at least tweeted or posted about it somewhere and it'd probably already be a 20-page thread. The stats are clearly incorrect.

But after Uncle @ XF and DH @ BRIT Awards, Katy has a reputation in this country for being a poor live performer. I don't mean any shade by this, but when people talk about singers who cannot sing live, her name is always mentioned. I wouldn't be surprised if these promo performances had a negative affect on her ticket sales.

It really takes a serious mental disability to be given factual videos and receipts where the arenas are almost full of people, yet keep clinging to the unconfirmed receipts with absurd numbers. No wonder everyone is bullying you irl.

There are videos of a full arena. You really believe if Katy had only 4k people show up in a 16k arena it wouldn't already be a thread here and be well-documented?

Why does everyone compare dates? A date can be performed to anywhere between 4k ( ) to 74k people.
Ticket numbers are a way fairer comparison.
