If Katy has outlasted Gaga why is Gaga's tour on par with Katy? Why is Gaga being regarded as an icon and most influential on important lists by Time and Forbes magazine whereas Katy and all her hits aren't coming close to these list. In terms of maintaining actual star power and status, as well as brand building, Gaga seems to be still way ahead of Katy is comes across as merely a pop star more then an icon or superstar.

I love how this thread is still open, but it would have been closed 7 pages ago if it was about anyone else.

And she hasn't "outlasted" her, Gaga is still here. They will be both in this business as long as they choose to be.

The question is not who is more talented, who plays instruments, who writes her own songs (both have done it) or who takes more risks. It is very simple, why is Katy currently doing better than Gaga if Gaga started out so massive?

Like I said, the genre/presence and theme of the music might be a reason. No, Gaga is not over and touring is her strong point right now. But with albums and singles in the US, Katy is clearly dominating NOW. You cannot deny that.
