On June 19, anti-gay marriage supporters will be marching in Washington D.C. in order to express their beliefs that marriage should be upheld as between one man and one woman.

They use the basis of "family" as their argument about why they are marching. They are having a march, speakers, and a gala to celebrate at the end of the day.

In addition, they ask for sponsors. It's amazing that people will donate their hard earned money to this, when last time I checked, there are people dying across this country that could use said donations.

When they could use this time to march for a charity or righteous cause, they march for hate. Lord

Yet introducing same-sex marriage takes nothing away from them and actually only strengthens the power of "marriage," across multiple diverse identities.

Why do they bother so much?

Simple-minded people doing simple-minded things.

My country was the first to legalize gay marriage and it's unimaginable something like this would even take place here. Can someone remind them it's 2014

Surely the basis for their anti-equal marriage stance isn't anti-equal marriage at all but anti-same sex parent adoption/surrogacy/fostering?

Regardless, the requirement for a mother and a father is inherently misogynistic, reaffirming traditional gender roles and showing their ignorance isn't localised to homophobia despite scientific evidence to show that, on the whole, gay parents actually adopt a more wholesome parenting role.
