Infact Nokia funded this project before Windows Phone even came into the picture. If Anything, WP is a cheap knock of Jolla since it has half the functionality of Sailfish OS.
Plus it actually uses LIVE tiles which means you can control the App on the tiles. Plus if you exit an app, it still runs in those tiles (for example if you have to answer a text during a movie it will run in it's own tile.

WP & iOS 7 don't even come near that level of multi-tasking,

Apple used the exact same font sis. They also used transparency the exact same way.

You watch the movie on your phone, lmao.
It's an example. You can control all your apps live on the home screen.

I thought Windows Phone 8 came out in 2013 my bad.

But still, the tiles on Sailfish are multitasking tiles. They aren't there to look pretty like on WP8.
