Well? Do you use punctuation when you type on ATRL or nah?
I know for me, I refuse to use periods of any sort unless a smiley ends the sentence

Even if I'm making two or more sentences per post, I just usually break lines instead of putting a period. <- (except this). <- (and that, and any other subsequent period from now on). Maybe that's why I never end up writing essays, my punctuation is unfit for it
