So English 1st.
After a certain level of math, everything is elective or unimportant. Basic math is very important, but after like 8th grade it's not essential to living. Also math has a lot of shortcuts. I know people who did well in math mostly because they had excellent memory versus actually knowing the ins and outs of what they were doing.
Science is iffy for me. Mostly because the average person does not even need basic Science knowledge to function day to day in the real world, however in the grand scheme of things from the anatomy of the human body to medicinal practices to sustaining the enviroment, Science is incredibly important.
