I don't think there's any way this is about Lorde, doesn't fit. She's not similar musically or stylistically, and she never said anything about Lana be inauthentic.
I suspect it's about Gaga. It sounds like someone she knew before either of them were famous (So Legit) who said she was inauthentic. Then they "copied her" as in Gaga started living out a fantasy or playing a character, and that brought her success. The reference to this person considering herself an artist is kind of blatant.
If it's not about Gaga, then idk who else to think of. I wish it wasn't about Gaga though; it makes Lana seem very bitter all these years later when she herself is successful too!

I'm not sure why Koons has come up in this thread but I'll point out that this is an extremely common model for artists popularized by Warhol. It's not some evil practice exclusive to Koons. Coincidentally, it's the same business model used by many of ATRL's favorite pop stars.
