Lemme tell you, buying my Macbook Pro and switching from Windows was the best choice possible

It depends what you use them for though - they're expensive if you're just gunna browse the internet and do school work.

Productively I've done so much more with my Mac than I ever could with windows

ASUS is great. Mac's are good, but always cost 2-3x what they are worth.

I'm not too techno savvy, but I've had my HP Pavillion dv6t for almost 3 years now and it hasn't given me any trouble.

I'm a producer and graphic designer and I can say that a Mac is the most awful device I have ever worked with. In order to get specs high enough to do work you have to pay around 5x what you'd have to do for a PC. Plus a PC looks so much better than a mac and is organized better unlike macs where everything is static.

I'll be honest, the built in speakers are not great in Asus models.

Even the sonic master revisions are not spectacular, but in my opinion it is on par with Mac.

HP has the absolute best laptop speakers on their sub $1,000 models.

They also have the envy models that use Beats speakers if you're into that. I don't know

How long they will be doing so with the Beats acquisition.

Anyway, go ASUS. Speakers aren't everything.

If you just use the browser it wont make much difference
If you are a versatile hardcore user, mac is a nightmare, because Windows is king in terms of compatability and is the market standard, there are a tons of apps that are not developed for MacOS

I cant use a OS that has no taskbar and startup menu, its too unproductive for me when Im in deep multitasking, thats why Linux has a similar interface like Windows

Tbf, i've adapted to Logic Pro more than I could with Pro Tools or any other DAW on Windows... but it comes down to personal preference/work

Asus is my favorite. You can get very high end specs for cheap. Mine had the same specs as the Macbook Pro last year for half the price. The battery life on mine is terrible, I basically use it as a desktop.

Personally though, the speakers on a Mac are the best our as well as the keyboard. If you hate MacOS, just install Windows and make it the default OS. The sound quality is amazing, the screens are great and the speed is awesome.

whatever you do DO NOT BUY AN ACER. Those are ****in lame as hell and brittle ass machines.

And your better off with a cinderblock than a MAC,

I guess that's true, but even so, a Mac can't run a ton of plugins at once without getting into gigantic price ranges. It'd be smarter to run Hackintosh on a PC than buy a Mac if you're doing production work out of a studio.

Probably, but the amount of problems you can run into with Hackintoshes

I haven't had too many troubles with running sh-t loads of plugins, it just depends if I'm using Logic ones (which are decent) or external ones like Kontakt (which, if you run multiple instances of it without using multi-timbral) will overload any machine in a given
