Madonna kicked off her Sticky & Sweet World tour August 23rd in Cardiff to unanimous acclaim and just played to 72,000 in Zurich, the largest audience ever for a concert in Switzerland. So far, it's the biggest worldwide tour by a recording artist in 2008.
This mashed up, rock tinged dance-athon features familiar hits and new favourites including “4 Minutes,” “Candy Shop” and “Give It 2 Me” from her sensational ‘Hard Candy’ album that debuted at number 1 in 32 countries.
The European leg of the tour finishes September 27th in Athens while the US leg starts October 4th in New Jersey and finishes in Miami November 26th. Sticky & Sweet then travels to Mexico where two stadium performances sold out in record time. In South America, record setting pre-registration to buy tickets has resulted in over 450,000 advance reservations for what has now become six confirmed performances in Brazil (3), Chile (2) and Argentina (1).

- John McCain reacts to ''Sticky & Sweet Tour"

DENVER, COLORADO (AFP) — John McCain's campaign hit back at Madonna on Sunday after the pop diva kicked off her world tour with a concert that bracketed the US presidential candidate with Adolf Hitler.
McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds angrily condemned the segment of Madonna's concert in Cardiff on Saturday that appeared to draw a comparison between McCain, Hitler and Zimbabwean strongman Robert Mugabe.
"The comparisons are outrageous, unacceptable and crudely divisive all at the same time," Bounds said in a statement reported by Fox News.
"It clearly shows that when it comes to supporting Barack Obama, his fellow worldwide celebrities refuse to consider any smear or attack off limits."
Madonna's apparent swipe at McCain came during a performance of the song "Get Stupid", when the Republican contender's image was flashed up alongside images of destruction and global warming as well as Hitler and Mugabe.
I watched the "Beat Goes On" performance. This is great for her, but I've never understood and still don't understand what's so great about her live performances. I saw a woman walking across the stage and doing the very occasional dance move. Not to mention, her live vocals aren't anything to write home about. :-/
I'll put it this way: her tours seem to be more focused on the special FX than her performing.

LMAO. Always expect the Janet fan to throw something irrelevant on Madonna.
What you don't understand about her performances is what made her the most successful female artist of all time. And FYI, this tour, with the seeming "occasional dance moves", has been 100% live and she played the guitar in at least 5 songs in the setlist... something you'd never see in a Janet whispery tour. :lolz:
And Madonna is the last artist on earth who needs special FX to deliver an exceptional performance. Keep your lies to yourself and use YouTube more often.

I forgot that you were such an asshole
How the hell is this irrelevant? I like Madonna's music--like not love--"Human Nature" is great, the entire Ray of Light album is brilliant. And here we are, talking about her tour. I say something about her PERFORMING, which is boring, and you call me irrelevant? Get a life, bitch.

I don't think you've ever seen anything like this in a Vadge performance:
And, hm, let's see. The last comparable tours between the two ladies were the All for You tour and the Drowned World tour, both 2002. Here's an excerpt from a few reviews:
'Reviews for Jackson's All for You Tour drew comparison to that of her contemporary rivals. The Los Angeles Times' David Massey reported that compared to Madonna's Drowned World Tour, "Janet outdid the Material Girl by a mile ... And the gall to bring Britney Spears' name into the picture by saying Janet's show is like Britney's? Hello, it's the other way around!."[94] Similarly, reporter Rudy Scalese complimented Jackson's performance, stating, "Janet Jackson hasn't skipped a beat. She is still the Queen of Pop.'
