Lol well since homosexuality has frequently been suppressed through time and history then why not? If you want the "shoving" to stop then we gotta prevent all this homophobic bullcrap first sis and that's why it may seem "pushy" in a way because we're finally making a few baby steps towards equality. The same goes for discrimination and social inequality etc. Also, I think you're kinda phrasing it wrong because how can you shove an aspect of who you are into someone's face?
I agree that nobody should be forcing anything unto somebody else, however, it's better than hiding from yourself.
