Poll: Is Charli XCX Responsible for Fancy's Success?
There's no denying Fancy is a late spring/early summer smash, but who is really responsible for the infectiousness of the song? It seems music fans & publications have favored the efforts of both the songs production & supporting artists over that of the lead artists;
As a pop-radio dominator, “Fancy” has two big things going for it: tight production and a great supporting performer.

Compared to Charli’s monster hook, Azalea’s rapping is the track’s weaker sister. Iggy may be a more confident rapper than Debbie Harry in 1981, but she also sounds like she’s trying really hard.

10. Nothing On Radio Sounds Quite Like Iggy.
This isn't to take anything away from Iggy, as at the end of the day her name is on the credits & it's ultimately her song. But with fans & critics agreeing, did Iggy really bring anything to her own song? The success of it, that is. Or is Charli XCX really the Overshadowing Chantanuse?
Without a question, the hook is the most important part of any pop song... and this song is no different. Charli sings that catchiest part of the song. People may know Iggy's verses, but no one is going to deny that the chorus has made this song a hit.
Probably a great deal of it I borderline stan for Iggy and I hate to admit it, but I don't think Fancy would have been as successful or successful at all without Charli's hook.
To be honest I always sing along to Iggy's parts. They're incredibly good and catchy even more than the chorus.
Chari's part is good but you get tired of it soon.
