The 39-year-old met with show bosses last week to discuss joining Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh on the panel.
However it's rumoured the talk was only to establish Sara as a back up – should Mel B pull out at the last minute. “Bosses are pretty certain they will be able to officially unveil Mel B as the fourth X Factor judge next week but she hasn’t signed a deal yet," “There have been upsets in the past with the judging panel and so producers want to have other names in the frame if they are needed.
“Sara Cox is an intriguing one. She met with producers last week and talked over the role and told them she was interested.”
Meanwhile, Simon Cowell said the position has been filled.
“We’ve settled on someone. It’s not just finding a name, it’s someone who’s going to do the job," he said.
“They’ve got to really commit to the artists and that’s why it’s been a long decision. It’s a female.”
ughh God no. She's always been a total flop on TV every show she's ever done. Huge mistake and she certainly will not bring any new viewers thats for sure! Turn them off much more likely. Nobody cares what she thinks.
