Why? Why not do it for one of the great Final Fantasy games like IX?

XII is fantastic (so is IX). They'd have to remake IX completely whereas they just have to update textures and add achievements for XII.

omg, I would love this. I've always felt XII is tragically underrated... so good. I was actually thinking about replaying it soon for the first time in years

IX is great too, but I don't really see what the point would be. The big update to X/X-2 was that they gave everything new HD textures (which look gorgeous ) and updated the main character models. Since all the games before X have pre-rendered environments, all they'd be doing is updating the character models unless they completely re-did the graphics... which is a lot more work than just an HD re-release.

Would definitely get it, especially if they add IZJS.

Don't know if anyone here has played XII on an emulator but the character models and textures are already outstanding, the original PS2 tech does not do justice to how beautiful and lush it is. And to think, with an HD version m, it won't have compressed audio anymore!
