This is catchy but very basic. The only thing that made it ok was Cheryl's voice who has this nice element. The song is very very basic

Now what I expected but it's a grower. This > Call My Name.

People need to give this a chance and appreciate it for what it is: a feel good pop song. Sonically, it's her most similar to FFTL and everything else from the 3 Words era (and to a lesser extent PT) so I'm confused as to why people are complaining about it.

I highly doubt her stans expect more than feel good pop from her. The issue here is the quality of the song. Personally, that chorus just isn't doing anything for me. It is flat and a total non-event. The rap verse is horrendous, and as a whole the song doesn't really go anywhere.

That being said, I do like it more than I did a few days ago. Not the parts I just criticized, but the rest. This doesn't really deserve to be a #1 single, but I'd like that for Cheryl, so I guess I'm not sure where I stand on supporting it.

Well there really isn't a chorus, is there? That's kind of the beauty of the song. And it's not like FFTL exploded into a crescendo of pop beats or anything. That was very much a slow, mid-tempo burn.

I'm not losing sleep over the response the song has gotten honestly because the negative reaction is really only here on ATRL and Popjustice and that's probably because all the queens wanted another club bop and, well, this isn't that.
