So aside from Complicated which songs of Avril's were impactful and were they impactful enough to still be referenced and as powerful as Crazy in Love and Single Ladies? I know Avril ushered in the wave of pop-punk and anti-Britney's, but that was a short lived trend. The reason that critical success and impact is a part of peak is because those are two elements that are hugely important in your career. If the question is who sold more albums or something then that is objective and this thread is unnecessary.
To break it down, in 2008 Beyonce released I Am … Sasha Fierce. She had a massively iconic music video that was bigger than any pop girl video in a long time. Aside from that #1, she also had a string of top tens and the album sold very well. The rest of the era saw the release of #1 Box Office hit movie, a massively successful world tour, a historic performance at the Inauguration Ball of Barrack Obama, a successful performance DVD staying at the top of the DVD chart for 8 weeks, and to top it off she won six Grammys in one night. So.. the question is, has Avril ever matched that?
