I was scrolling down my dashboard on Tumblr (FOLLOW ME = http://nationwideexposure.tumblr.com/) and I saw an article about what happened to Steve from Blue's Clues and I was surprised to find why he really left.

Burns has gone on the record stating that he left "Blue’s Clues" for a number of reasons. One was to pursue a career in music. Following the show, Burns worked with members of The Flaming Lips to produce his debut album "Songs For Dustmites." Burns would go on to work with the band on other projects as well.
In addition, Burns said there was a lot of pressure being someone kids looked up to and he didn’t want to just do children's TV his whole life. Co-creator Traci Paige Johnson has said that Burns was great on the show because he "didn't want to be a children's host. He loved kids, but he didn't want to make a career out of it."
Both of these factors contributed to Burns' departure; however, there is one reason that may trump them all!

That could explain why the Fairly Oddparents low-key shaded Steve during their Channel Chasers special back in 2004
Anyways, I remember being a kid watching this show, I even remember watching it at 2 years old and I remember when they had that special on Steve going away to college or something. it was definitely sad, but it was a cute end to an era of a great kids show.
I hope he's happy with his life after the show because he seems to be very at peace
that's quite a departure from 'We Just Got A Letter'
