The EU isn't going to be utilized. That's already been made clear. Even though TCW is still canon, I don't think they'd want to bring those characters back and confuse those that didn't watch.

He wasn't big but was certainly well known. American Graffiti was a huge best picture nominated hit. But I agree. Peter Cushing and Alec Guinness DEFINITELY led the first Star Wars and Guinness deservedly got nominated for an Oscar for it.
