Jennifer Lawrence Confirms New David O Russell Role
Jennifer Lawrence has confirmed that David O Russell asked her to take the lead role in his new film.
The 23-year-old Superstar actress accepted the offer and is now set to play Miracle Mop inventor Joy Mangano in the upcoming biopic.
MTV News reports that during an appearance on Live With Kelly and Michael, Lawrence admitted O Russell made the suggestion via text.
"[Russell] recently texted me at I think 4 in the morning, and he was like, 'I think I want to make a movie about the woman who invented the [Miracle] Mop. You want to do it?'" Lawrence explained.
"I was like, 'Yeah,'" she added. "I can just imagine David looking at somebody mopping and being like, 'Yeah, that's my next screenplay.'"
Lawrence - who was recently voted Sexiest Woman in the World by the readers of FHM - first collaborated with O Russell on Silver Linings Playbook.
The pair then teamed up again for 2013's Oscar-nominated American Hustle.
Lawrence can currently be seen in X-Men Days of Future Past, in which she resumes her role as shape-shifter Mystique.
