Oh. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting. And it's pretty old; a couple of years old. I can understand why people are offended, though. But yeah, I don't know why he thought that was okay.
It's a word. People give power to too many WORDS. I could careless if he used it or not... and I hate him!
People need to quit giving certain words so much power. I wouldn't care if he used the f-word to describe a gay man or the d-word to describe an Italian.

Because white people created the word and used it to demean black people so obviously black people aren't going to want to hear them say it. Especially those who didn't live through those horrible times but hear the stories, see the pictures, watched the movies etc., Also alot of people who lived through that time are still alive.
A black person calling another black person the N word although ignorant holds no weight really. Plus it doesn't really mean the same thing today as before but obviously alot of people aren't ready to let go of history and don't want white people saying it due to it's history.

I didn't say that black people could use the word. I don't use it because I think it's wrong. I guess white people "can't" say it because they were the ones who "invented" it and it was used negatively and maliciously.
Words only hurt if you attach meaning to it. A word is just a word. Like if you say "F**k" in a happy tone, it's not the same as in an angry tone.
Some people use gay as an insult, I just say it because it's a habit and it's fun. How's that any different? "Oh this is so gaaaaay." vs. "You are so f**king gay, ugh."
But even that last sentence can be taking lightly, depending on the tone. I watched this video and it's just harmless immature fun from a 16 year old Justin. Cut him some slack, move on. There's worse things in this world that need more attention than some video from a pop star who's slowly fading...
I can't stand Bieber, but I'm actually going to (kind of) stick up for him here.
The "joke" he said was downright offensive, but I find it hard to believe that EVERY single member in this thread who's saying stuff like "what an idiot" has never made any sort of racial joke/slur in their life. I just hate it when people act like angels, because the thing is - nobody's perfect! And even if you've never made a negative comment about race, you probably have made on about an overweight person, or a particular religion.
He was stupid to blame it on age, because at 15 I knew jokes like this were downright offensive. However, I probably did say some really dumb stuff back in my teens, because although you know right from wrong - you're trying to find your footing and develop your own views and opinions.
I don't think he was being racist, he being immature and insensitive. Like, how many times do you see the N word on this website? Or hear people say it in the street? (Not saying it's OK to say it because it's not!)
