Gaga has and always been more artistic than other pop girls, go and study the Poker Face, Paparazzi lyrics, the dance in the dark lyrics. Pls.

When she starts releasing The Fame / The Fame Monster quality material again. Born This Way and ARTPOP have had flawless singles and I loved the albums, but she was at her best during The Fame and The Fame Monster eras. That sound really suited her and I don't expect her to release the same stuff over and over again, but her experimental stuff she did on Born This Way and ARTPOP wasn't a good decision on her part. And DJ White Shadow needs to go. The songs he did with her were fine (for the most part), and some of them are some of my favorite Gaga songs, but overall he's messy. Her RedOne collaborations slay, though.

I agree with whoever said a #1 means next to nothing these days. After those changed rules involving streaming, it's more about going viral than having a song the GP actually genuinely likes and remembers. According to Billboard's new rules, Psy is the king of pop and What Does The Fox Say is a mega indie smash.
Applause was an appreciated bop, DWUW was well liked and no one heard G.U.Y. Hardly an era of unloved, GP-repelling singles.

So true. Honestly people can bash and criticize Gaga's "art" forever, and they will, but the fact that she could literally work with anyone she wants to and release catchy mindless dance singles, but doesn't, says everything about her.

She says "music, not the bling". Which implies quality over success, and her music is unique - who else blends such a mix of genres into a contemporary pop format as successfully as she does? Just cause the album's not flying off the shelves, and just because it's not as digestible as everything else she does, doesn't mean it's not quality.
