Dance music has been associated with gay people since the 90's at least. Why do you think Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue, Madonna, Britney Spears, etc. do so much of that music, whilst people who straight guys like such as Eminem, Jay-Z, etc. do all they can to avoid it?
If any of my friends caught me listening to a song like Clarity, Summertime Sadness, Starships or Titanium, my social credibility would be ruined for sure lol. Thankfully I hate that kind of music anyway.

You have a very unfortunate and archaic viewpoint that may well reflect where you come from, but isn't representative of the world or even dance music culture.
Majority of EDM fans in all it's forms are straight males. Female popstars doing dance music will of course have larger female and gay male audiences but the DJ scene and male dance producers have mostly straight male fans. I will pull some receipts for you when I'm on a computer.
I also suggest you come to the UK or Europe sometime. Even the most urban clubs here, where most songs are hip-hop and crowds are black, play the biggest dance-pop and house singles.
As a straight male myself that goes urban clubs, I always hear We Found Love, Starships, Only Girl, La La La, Scream and Shout, Disclosure, etc. mixed with stuff like N- in Paris, Gas Pedal and The Motto and all the popular and new hip-hop stuff.
Way more progressive urban scene in the UK.
