Reviewers all liked it, yes, but PNP isn't the type of song to get Grammys. Neither are any of her "serious" songs.
She's at her best when she's going off and being crazy and coming up with metaphors and having fun. That's how she'll get her Grammys, by doing what she does best.

And I agree with you. The only Nicki song nominated for a Grammy to date is Moment 4 Life. It's not DIOE and it's not Roman's Revenge. It's Moment 4 Life.
People want personal music from Nicki because they really don't know anything about her. She can create metaphors in her sleep.
She'll never win a Grammy. Hopefully people get that through their head.

If Nicki took the Drake route, she would be more respected.
But that's not the person I started stanning for.

Considering the material being released by other artist this year she may JUST get a Grammy.

It's all about those singles she released. Blazin, Here I Am, Catch Me, etc. all had potential at Grammys.

You know what makes Nicki so great:
It is that she is able to cause arguments/discussions as to if we, as fans, want a personal album or a hardcore album, raw-spitting album, a Pop album or a Hip-Hop album.
There's not many rappers or even artists, for that matter, that can cause these type of discussions between fans and critics alike.

Hip-Hop is trash this year so I'm glad she's making these kind of songs now.

Honestly, to be honest, Nicki her serious songs are my least favorites. She just loses everything that makes her interesting and unique as a rapper. I mean
Quote:
****** want respect, but ****** ain't earned that yet
Self-righteous, and entitled
But they swearing on the Bible that they love you
When really they're no different from all your rivals
But I still don't wish death on them, I just reflect on them
|
Quote:
They never thank me for opening doors
But they ain't even thank Jesus when he died on the cross
'Cause your spirit is ungrateful, bitches is so hateful
I remain a staple
|
Quote:
Pink Friday in Macy's
Thongs and some pasties
(Yo, what other female rapper perfume in there? 'Cause I must've missed it)
12 milli to kick my feet up
Get ready this is the RE-UP
|
Quote:
This is for the hood, this is for the kids
This is for the single mothers, ****** doing biz
This one is for TT, Tweety, Viola, Sharika
Candice, Timby, Lauren, Iesha.

It's just boring to me.

Nicki took the exact opposite route of Drake & instead followed the sound of music on the Hot 100 top 10. It helped but in the end it also hurt her.
IMO, when it comes to Hip Hop if you have the respect the success should follow.

IDGAF what y'all say... The lyrics she spit in Freedom were Grammy worthy.

Here I Am is one of her best songs, and that's very personal and serious.
I'm sorry, but I can't deal with a bunch of "bops".

I couldn't agree with you more. Her versatility is what sets her apart from the rest.
