Alvajay disagreed and nothing he said was transphobic
If I was reading that thread correctly I think you and Alvajay actually agreed, but you both misinterpreted what the other was trying to say. She seemed to agree that the lifting of the Medicare ban was a good thing.
Or I could have misread. I am running on like two hours of sleep rn after all.
Just because some one doesn't agree doesn't mean their trams phobic
Sure. But trivializing SRS to cosmetic surgeries and the like implies that you lack empathy or understanding of transgenders in general. Transphobia is like homophobia. It can be latent as well as direct.

Oh.
I always said my reading comprehension was low. I was being sarcastic but sometimes I dunno
I completely disagree with those calling it cosmetic, but I also think people shouldn't be warned for their opinions. I don't see most of those posts as attacks...
Thinking that the government shouldn't pay for it doesn't make someone transphobic...
A trans person reading that thread would definitely find a lot of those comments insensitive. At the end of the day we all have our opinions, but there's a polite and respectful way to put it across, especially when it's a very sensitive and important subject.

To be fair though. Even if their posts were all polite and respectful.... the responses to those posts would not be.
