I hear alot of arguments, specifically from poly people stating that monogamy is 'man-made (built by religion)', or 'un-natural', and human have the urge for sex. Some people also claim that monogamous relationships are both 'selfish' and 'possessive'. I strongly disagree with these claims and believe that humans should have more self-control over their primal urges. But are your opinions on this matter?
Let people have what they want. I certainly don't think I'm selfish for having a relationship and not letting my future partner not be with anyone. It's called I want him to be faithful to me.
********!
People can believe what they want, but monogamy is what I crave and value.
I find it to be much more rewarding and fulfilling than a polygamous situation.
No. I personally prefer open relationships and I think the option shouldn't be so stigmatized, but there's nothing wrong with monogamy.
This - I differ in what I prefer, but the fact is that open relationships and other non-monogamous forms of romantic and sexual interaction are in no way inferior to monogamous relationships.

But wouldn't you be prohibiting his freedom if he wasn't allow to have other romantic or sexual partners?

No. When two people commit to a serious relationship they should know whether the other wants a monogamous relationship, and if they both agree, nobody is having their freedom limited.
