How could it possibly backfire? Apple paid pocket change for a company that has cheap contracts to build their own streaming program, has a strong hold on the headphone business (even if they're absolute garbage), and gets another genius marketing team to join their own.

Funding was never the issue, Beats was a scam company to start with. Dre's connections allowed Monster to get celebrity endorsements for cheap, and as more people saw these stylish headphones in music videos, more people were buying them and didn't mind the price because 1) it had Dre's name on it and 2) the celebrity endorsements. Beats COULD make their headphones better quality if they wanted, but why would they when people will pay $300 for headphones that cost $10 to make?

Interesting, thanks for the tea. I definitely figured that all celebs that were wearing beats weren't doing it because of the sound quality. As for the improving the quality of the sound issue maybe they would do if they could keep the price margins good,your still making a lot of money regardless
