My fave wrote every single song she released + she got many awards for her songwriting,including Songwriter of the Year.

But Katy is cute

I hope this clarifies a biT. She writes to tracks often, so that means she helps write the melody. Some people think she just writes the lyrics.

Anyway, most people know she writes most of her songs. Only shouting about it like an arrogant brat will make me hate her.

Honestly, I am trying to like her, but you Kats make it very difficult. Tone the **** down and stop overrating the girl.

We're not overrating anything. Her songwriting ability to VERY underrated.

By writing to tracks she means her producers give her a track without any vocals or melody and goes from there and puts in all the life to it. I think you're the one being pressed here sis.

I know it's how Gaga writes some of her music too; it's not uncommon.

Honestly, she doesn't write most of her songs. She used to, back in the OOTB days, but now she mostly co-writes. I don't know how involved she is in her musical career, but I do know that she certainly churned out Prism pretty quickly.

With "write to tracks" I know that she wrote Ghost to an instrumental Luke produced for Kesha.

Sometimes I feel like when she works with Luke she writes to a beat he already made for her.
I think the songs she comes up with on her own, are the ones that Luke isn't attached too.

She still conceptualizes each of her songs. Of course, she gets writers to help her, but even comparing her to OOTB like that isn't accurate because Hot N Cold and IKAG were written with many different co-writers.

She really has a different process for tracks she deems singles and future non-singles.

For singles she really works with quite a lot of people and usually Dr. Luke.
For other material it's generally more organic and there are 2-3 writers.

And PRISM was not a quick process. It's been in the making since summer 2012.
There is enough leftover unreleased material to put out a whole second volume (rerelease hihi ). Choose Your Battles alone took her four months to write.

Its hard to give any credit to Katy considering Bonnie McKee mentioned in many interviews she wrote most of Katy's songs and especially the #1s.

Most of OOTB's material was written before she was famous, and Luke and his camp added a few songs last minute.

Pressed? How can you assume such emotions from my fingers?

Katy has a lot of input into her songwriting (at least she did during OOTB and TD). I commend her for it, honestly.

What I don't understand is the desperate need for acceptance from us, as non fans. Live and let die. We know she writes her own songs. Seriously, I said the same thing to The Army when they kept spamming ATRL with threads like "Britney dancing like 2004!". Are you happy for yourselves, the fact that you can now prove it to everyone else? Be selfless and hold your middle finger up high. We don't need these desperate thread titles. And honestly, that's how it looks. Want a cookie?
