And yes, lesbians are given an easier time than gay men for a plethora of reasons, a lot of them stemming ultimately from misogyny and gay men opposing the patriarchal narrative of "what it means to be a man" and blah blah. But who cares? It's not a competition.

Lesbians have to deal with the same laws that gay men do, which means that they also have to deal with not being able to get married or have their marriage recognized in certain places, potentially not being able to adopt children, and not being safe from discrimination in the workplace. Just because some straight men get boners from lesbians doesn't mean that they are more respected.
