how is p!nk a cheap version of christina? they're not even alike at all musically, and are only alike in image because they try to be different from a shallow pop star.

You know, I dislike or am neutral to a lot of pop stars. But I can still give credit where credit is due.

You want to know what the people I'm around say when Christina is brought up? I'll put some examples in quotations and I'll leave out any of the mean ones about her weight gain. "What happened to her" "I haven't heard her own songs on the radio in forever" "I think she got fired from the Voice" "I don't think she has her own identity" and it just goes on.

P!nk's impact in popular culture is there. She's referenced in shows. I'll list some. Will & Grace, The Big Bang Theory, The Proud Family, Suburgatory, Tower Prep, Hannah Montana. Half of that list is composed of iconic shows.

Anyway, the impact P!nk has had on music and culture is that she's a voice. She was Lady GaGa all the way back in 2000. Promoting love and self acceptance as well as LGBTQ issues. Just because she didn't "inspire" a bunch of teenage girls to wear dress shirts and ties doesn't mean that she's been without her mark. Some of you are failing to see the bigger picture.

And to the person who said that P!nk switching from R&B to pop/rock wasn't being true to her roots, you can sit. The genre somebody does has nothing to do with roots. Music is bigger than the genre that contains it. P!nk has essentially stayed the same person she's been since the start. She's never wavered on her morals or ideas. If that's not something to be impacted by, that somebody with so much to lose can stick to their guns even when it's not popular, then I don't want to be impacted. Especially by what most people on ATRL consider trailblazers, icons, titans or IMPACTURRS
