All these excuses. So owning up to being racist makes it okay?
People speaking on behalf of their whole nation "we don't use her"
Never change ATRL.

You guys are moving the goal post. K Michelle's behaviour, amount of fame or chart position has nothing to do with her calling Iggy out on her fake accent.. Clearly you're avoiding the matter of discussion or maybe screaming: "LALALA Icanthearyou" because you don't want to face it. Typical ATRL stan behavior.
But it was said best here:

And a lot of you ARE white(entitled) gay males(entitled) who don't care and aren't affected by it. So it's understandable you harp on chart positions and talk irrelevant bull to detract the real subject matter.

Why aren't/weren't people calling out Adele, ABBA, Cliff Richards, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, George Michael, Rod Stewart, Ed Sheeran, Oasis, Led Zepplin and INXS etc?
Anyway, Iggy has addressed it before.
Quote:
Interviewer: Race has been an issue since you first got noticed as the tall blonde who rapped. Did you understand that some people in the U.S. would think you were fake?
Iggy: Yeah, but it’s retarded. The Rolling Stones go to America, play “black” blues music, and nobody has a ****ing issue with it or thinks it’s weird. But here we are, 50 years later, in the 21st century, and people are like, “This is so weird that you’re white, from another country, and you like black music.” Why is it not weird for Keith Richards or Mick Jagger, but it’s so weird and taboo for me? Do you think a kid liking my music is gonna make rap music some other thing, or that all of a sudden nobody’s gonna like Scarface?
Interviewer: In a country where “speaking black” has been a hindrance in almost every profession but rap, do you see how a white person making money in rap by adopting this accent could ruffle feathers?
Iggy: If you’re mad about it and you’re a black person then start a rap career and give it a go, too. I’m not taking anyone’s spot, so make yourself a mixtape. Or maybe if you’re black, start singing like a country singer and be a white person. I don’t know. Why is it such a big deal? This is the entertainment industry. It’s not politics. You should be more concerned about the message, not the voices saying it.
Interviewer: Have you ever rapped with your Australian accent?
Iggy: Never. It feels weird to me. It’s the inflection at the end of a sentence when I take a breath. Obviously there are people who rap in all kinds of accents. But for me, rapping is like singing: The breath patterns aren’t the same as when I’m talking, so it’s easier to change into whatever I want. I couldn’t talk in an American accent—I could, but it would sound very fake—but I can rap in one with no problem.

A recent study suggests that the default singing accent for New Zealand pop singers utilizes American vowel sounds, even when the singers aren’t trying to sound American, perhaps because today’s singers were brought up listening to American (and imitation-American) pop vocals.

So she addressed the race issue by using the R-word? That. Is. Disgusting. Like I actually feel sick. That is such a horrible word to use in that context. I'm gay and I think I'm actually offended by that more than all the homophobia.

She's from the middle of no-where; it's not really surprising she is both uncouth and uneducated.

I think it's interesting how she deflects from the actual question being asked. The interviewer questions her about her rapping style and instead of discussing that, she talks about "liking black music". Liking/ appreciating something is different to appropriating and making money off it. I'd love for an interviewer to ask her why she thinks she is able to rap like that and be perceived as cool and edgy, whilst real life people that speak like that are seen as ratchet and uneducated. I just think a little more reflection on her part would make her realise at least, why people have a problem with her, if not to make her change her ways. Because she comes off as victimised, she really thinks she's the one being hard done by.
And FFS she's comparing white people appropriation of rock/ blues in the 1950s to now. It was just as wrong then, it's just that people didn't have a platform like the internet to protest it like we do now. She really needs to educate herself.

People throw around terms like "problematic" and "racist" so loosely and then complain that it's beginning to lose its meaning and ultimately becomes less serious than it should be in certain REAL cases that matter on the grand scheme of things. I know you’re all pressed Iggy is winning but there’s other ways to show that. Oh well.

It hasn't been released like that, it should've been up on iTunes the week it premiered it's kind of like one of those movie-only tracks. :/

She sounds so whiny and middle school here. There are tons of white men and women that have successfully been apart of black music. It's weird for her because her accent sounds fake, try-hard and put on. And that is why she is constantly being called out on it by the people she adopted it from: BLACK PEOPLE.
There are non-black rappers like Beastie Boys, Eminem, Cypress Hill, Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, Bradley Nowell (Sublime), Zack de la Rocha that have been accepted and are respected in the hip hop/rap community.

Music is cultural and when you're dealing with the history, depiction and origin of it, it is political. Did she graduate high school? What was her education like? Was she homeschooled?

I'm sure but don't you REALLY have something more useful to do with your life than to bash someone because they were supposedly a Twitter troll as a random young girl before becoming famous? And what's even more funny is that you stan for other female rapper who is just as problematic so please sit down and don't start.
