This classic album was released & Lauryn Hill was on the top of the world, nominated for 10 Grammys, winning 5 of them & then all of a sudden she disappeared. What the hell happened? It's been 10 years without Lauryn Hill now I'm ot counting stupid unplugged CD she did, 10 years & no new material from her. Can you imagine how her music would sound like today? Lauryn Hill is such a mystery
As far as I know, she's still alive. The Fugees reunited like two years ago, and that's the last everyone has heard of her. A major comeback is surely to come soon.
Man, i remember where her album came out. I was 6 years old. My moms would always be bumping to that Lauryn Hills album. I mean, I fell in love from the first time I heard her sing her music. Even with "Killing me Softly" and "Ready or Not", I was hypnotized. Then, like when I turned 12, I remembered her again (i mean, i never forgot, I just lost her album and I always had to search for the radio to play "Killing me Softly") So I went out and bought her album again. That second time, since I was older, I understood more and I feel in love even harder. I would sit in my closet with my floor model television and dvd player and turn on the album and let is play song after song and sing each and every one of them (it was hot as hell in that closet). LOL! Lauryn Hill is my 1 true inspiration. I wrote a song two nights ago called "Acoustic Guitar" dedicated to her. She makes me who I am today. With her soulful voice and her fantastic lyrics. If there was no Lauryn Hill, there would be no music in me. My all time favorite songs from her are "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" and "Peace of Mind". She must be really struggling right now. The last song she made was "Lose Myself" in 2006 or 2007 to the "Surfs Up" movie soundtrack. That song brought Lauryn back to many in so many ways. Everyday, I hope that she will release something new sometime soon and kick all these other females (except Rihanna) out the game. The only female singers I need are Rihanna and Lauryn and I'm good. She is the movement. The force. People say she decided to take time to raise a family and get herself together, but she doesn't realize how many people she had a huge impact on. If she was a true musician like she is supposed to be, she would take into consideration that we all miss her with every bone in our bodies. LAURYN, WE MISS YOU! COME BACK TO US!!
