@TimeOutFilm May 24
Best actress at Cannes goes to Julianne Moore for MAPS TO THE STARS - no one was really predicting that.
Btw, right before I got banned I was telling you that Lykke's album wasn't really doing it for me. Not here for a bunch of Dopes with only slightly less irritating vocals.

It's an album about the worst breakup of her life. It's not gonna have "Get Some"s on it.

The writing credits. Beyst is much more likely to spread her legs and be impregnated than to achieve writing a coherent sentence.

Stop seething and tie your hair into pig-buns because a 54 Year old looks hotter and younger then Miles.

I did! I loved it. Idk if you saw a couple pages back but this is REALLY good. You need to watch it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELIMeemx-FI
Speaking of Under The Skin, Rolling Stone just released a list of the best sic-fi films of the 21st century.
Quote:
3. UNDER THE SKIN
A Man Who Fell to Earth for millennials, Jonathan Glazer's cryptic tale of an extraterrestrial femme fatale who discovers her inner human being is, in the truest sense of the word, awesome. Lots of movies have tried to channel that old Seventies sci-fi feeling, but Glazer's visually sumptuous, genuinely unnerving movie is one of the few that feels as if it actually came from that fertile era of space oddities; there's a sense of exploration in its elliptical storytelling that feels light years ahead of most modern aliens-among-us tales. And who knew that it would take playing a predatory, largely nonverbal creature to convince us that Scarlett Johansson was capable of such nuanced work?
|
Quote:
9. HER
Who among us could not fall in love with Scarlett Johansson's sultry voice and breezy demeanor as portrayed in Her – even if she is just a computer operating system? Spike Jonze's post-postmodern love story reeks of all the hallmarks of every other sappy love story – infatuation, inadequacy, infidelity – and that's what makes it so engaging. Joaquin Phoenix's character falls in love with his PDA in such an endearing, all-too-human way that it feels real (and portentous), but it's the way he tries to overcome all the odds of his impossible love affair work that makes the film heartrending. Even she is just an operating system.

1. CHILDREN OF MEN
Director Alfonso Cuaron's adaptation of PD James' novel is a chilling nightmare, set in a future where human infertility has rendered society increasingly unstable (morality matters less when extinction is in the offing). The film's rumpled, weary atmosphere, as embodied by conflicted hero Clive Owen — playing a cynical bureaucrat drafted into a potentially species-saving plot — and stubborn optimism (personified by Michael Caine's aging hippie weed-dealer) combine to create a movingly tangible sci-fi tale that suggests that the end of the world, and its salvation, might not come with a bang, but a whimper. Emotionally resonant, daringly prophetic and disturbingly plausible, Children of Men is modern sci-fi storytelling at its apex.

Not surprising. BoomClap kind of beats Tennis Court.
It'll get bigger once that cheesy movie is in theater.

Stop making a big deal out of the little things
Cause I got big deals and I got little things
Got everything I'm asking for but you
Stop making a big deal out of the little things, let's get carried away
Come right now, you know where I stay
I just wanna say, you're mine, you're mine
I just wanna say, you're mine, you're mine
Fuck what you heard, you're mine, you're mine
All I'm really asking for is you
You're mine, you're mine
I just wanna say, you're mine, you're mine
Fuck what you heard, you're mine, you're mine
As long as you know who you belong to
Beysus and Aubs really did it with 'Mine' Woo, what a sing.
