I can see why people would say Unapologetic. Those first two singles were undeniably big and that does help. But at the end of the day, and the decade, and whatever other expanse of time we want to use, I don't think Unapologetic will be as remembered as the BEYONCÉ era. I'm not sure if Unapologetic broke any records or not, but BEYONCÉ not only broke records, but it SET the records to beat. It is a part of music history. It is a part of so many people's histories. The fervour for it was insane. It was a huge album that had millions of people talking about it, caring about it, loving it, sharing it, replaying it, etc. This is something that is bigger and more important than hit singles.

BEYONCÉ broke several.

All the current singles have videos on YouTube, yes. But they were only release to YouTube when they became singles. Not as promotion for the album. And by the time they were singles the album had already sold millions, so they have even less effect than a VEVO premiere usually has for a song/album.

How are the videos promo when they aren't truly released and you only get them if they are on the album (which you have to purchase)? I'm pretty sure WFL was promoted more than any BEYONCÉ single like for example "Problem" is a hit, no video out but it's being PROMOTED, is it not ?

As for the album..It's still selling is it not ? Not selling like a PROMOTED album but it's selling let's see the FINAL numbers.

Well I guess the point is that those first week numbers are indeed very impressive but even so the album is a couple of hundreds of thousands less than unapologetic and with the way it's currently selling it would need a big bump to outsell it.
And the longetivity point came up when someone was questioning unapologetic's longetivity.

But even without looking at the album sales, unapologetic still managed to have bigger singles than BEYONCÉ .
As for wfl, promo kicked in after the song had already peaked so it was like the Pour it Up situation where the video was released months after peaking.

Well I wasn't saying it to compare it to Diamonds. I was saying it as prove that Surfboard is indeed a thing.

And if you want to discuss how a word-for-word lyric that is repeated many times in a WW single has more results than a stylized spelling from an Urban-Only single only released in a handful of other countries then we can.

So BEYONCÉ sold more than a lot of albums in the first few days and is an incredible feat but it really just proves that the sales were frontloaded and that she couldn't keep up momentum.

Of course they don't know the records but the records show that the GP obviously cared about the album, giving it those records.
