Like if I am travelling somewhere by plane but we get stuck in a city for 5 hours until the next plane?
Or stopovers as in it was a long car trip and my sister needs to pee her and my brother is hungry and we stop in some random city?

If you visit somewhere for a couple of hours, I consider that somewhere I've been too.

The only country this would be applicable to me is Germany, as I sat at the Frankfurt airport for like 6 hours. I still tell people I've been to Germany though, as I did get to see some of the city via the plane window.

I also had a 24 hour layover in London once too, but I was able to explore a bit as it was an overnight one. (Spent a night in hotel, had to clear immigration etc.)
