Why was BTW accused of having no longevity ?
Now that I'm looking back, I wonder why BTW was accused of being frontloaded, when not even albums w/ longevity nowadays can match its frontloaded sales months after release.
Week 30: Katy Perry - Prism
Capitol - 27.000
Born This Way's week 32: 76,000, week 33: 54,000, week 34: 38,000, week 35, 32,000; with NO single out. (I skipped weeks 30 & 31 bc it was during Xmas)
Week 33: Lorde - Pure Heroine
Republic / Universal - 26.000
Born This Way's week 33: 54,000
Week 23: Beyonce -> Less than 16,000 - Out of the top 40.
Born This Way's week 23: 38,000
Week 32: Bangerz -> Less than 10,000
Born This Way's week 32: 76,000
then there is:
Born This Way in February 2012: 38,000
Born This Way in March 2012: 26,000

Inb4 'the obsession is real', 'rihported', 'cant compare then to now', 'inb4 lock', 'this is why everybody hates monsters', '*ARTPOP receipts for no reason*' '*random ARTPOP shade*', 'threadworthy'.

Well, it was out during the 21 era.
Second, Gaga had her peak in Asia during the BTW era.

It was a time when people were finally seeing some resistance towards people liking her material. For instance radio wasn't taking a liking to her as much as they did during TF/TFM and such. A lot of the hate and stuff she got back then was kind of overdone. I wouldn't even take it seriously. It DID manage to sell 2m U.S after selling 1.1 m first week so I guess it was never that bad.

People like to drag BTW cause it's the biggest era for a pop girl this decade bar 21. And Adele doesn't even count so whatever. Gaga is always the standard.

The Queen of Pop her high standards.
Not her managing to sell with a frontloaded album 2 months after the end of the era as much as the others "with longevity" with singles out, radio support, tour, promo, etc.

It just seemed like everyone was overshadowing her at that time. Katy Perry had hit after hit with her number 1's. Rihanna was still slaying and everywhere, Adele killed the game, Nicki's Superbass helped cockblock a few songs, like it just felt like Gaga couldn't catch a break. She did hold her own though, but the songs seemed to fall after around 2-3 months of release. The album did sell pretty well for it being "frontloaded" though. Way better than ARTPOP at least.

I don't agree. Katy Perry and Rihanna at the time never got that much attention. First half of 2011 it was all about Gaga. Even Britney had more attention on her in the first half of 2011 than Rihanna and Katy Meanwhile Adele rised and second half of 2011 was ALL ABOUT ADELE. The singles charts were smashed by her and LMFAO and then was Rihanna's smash hit We Found Love..
As you can check easily on google, Gaga had the most attention and interest (towards her) in 2011 than any other girl. She had 8M selling single WW in 2011 (as much as Adele's Rolling in the deep) and she had an Album that sold 6M (The 2nd best selling by a Female WW) ..

Really? Born This Way may have beat out Teenage dream by a couple of thousand in the album sales (Teenage Dream is around 6.5 Million, Born This Way around 7 million), but I'm pretty sure the 5 million equivalent albums from Teenage Dreams 50 million singles gives it a little bit of a edge when considering what's the biggest pop era this decade.

Katy's biggest US hit came out when she was 4th in line for attention? Queen.

Have you forgotten about the relentless promo she had going for that era, it would be pretty embarrassing if she wasn't selling as much.
The other girls you listed are not booking as much promo spots cause they don't need it

While TD maye have had double BTW's single sales, it only managed a third of its tour gross with more dates.

Where is the logic ? According to the receipts in the OP, Gaga is selling twice as much which means that "the other girls" can sell just as much with promotion (according to you) ? And I can agree about the other girls but NOT Katy when she had more promo than any of the other girls and is selling as much as them (Gaga excluded).

If that were true they'd be matching BTW's longevity sales without promo (which by that stage Gaga had eased up on a great deal).

You didn't answer the thread's question.
Why did BTW sell in March 2012, 3 months after MTN died, during her blackout, than the others with singles, promo, radio, etc?
Unless you think her 2011 promo affected the album's sales MONTHS later
