THE SECOND ONE IS AMAZING

Depite most ppl, I like a lot more the 1st version cuz I think the way to reach the... "potential" of this song is by showing the band playing.
I've read that the director of the 2nd version was coincidentaly the director of Depeche Mode's Enjoy The Silence and it was made as a a tribute to that video. Great work really!!! But I still prefer the 1st

You're so cynical that you can't even see that this video is *supposed* to look like the vid for "Enjoy the Silence", since it's suppoed to be a homage/tribute. Congratulations on the achievement!

In all seriousness, yeah, the first one's not special, but I assume this is the one that MTV/VH1/the like will air. The second one is more exciting, because, as pointed out, it's a tribute/homage to one of my personal favorite vids.

Good thing they finally made a video (better late than never). It's kinda funny though now that I said that, cuz I think "Viva La Vida" is finally losing steam on charts, so wut are the videos gonna be for? Although I'm happy that they finally gave up on the snoozefest that is "Violet Hill."

Video #1: I really liked this one. It was a little experimental in the way they move and the look of the video but I think it works. The ending is AMAZING, if you don't like the vid just watch the last 30 seconds, you'll like that. Also, I gotta feeling this one will look a million times better watching on MTV/VH1. B+

Video #2: I agree with everyone, the second one is better. It looks really simple and cheap but at the same time it really really works. I was smiling throughout the whole video. Really really good video (Even if it's a Depeche Mode ripoff) A-


While the general consensus is that video 1 is bad and video 2 is brilliant, I have to say I really enjoyed both videos.

Second video is great. It was shot nearby my hometown in The Hague, Holland.
I recognize the buildings and all. Yay!

VH1 Brazil is playing only the 1st version, and I'm still waiting to see any of those on MTV Hits.

The 2nd version is obviously better, btw.
