Some of you are taking his crumbs and making a three course meal. He isn't saying any kind of insults are just fine and dandy. He was specifically talking about the word TRANNY. A word thats been around forever without anybody having much of a problem. But in this age of victimhood everybodies looking for a new reason to be offended.

Its not the words its the intent you should be focused on.

Thats said, Im baffled why he allowed the harmless She-mail part to be removed from the show. The term She-male is perfectly suited to men who dress up as women...which is what the show is all about.

This thread essentially comes down to the fact that you're all defending the right to freely use abusive language (the implimentation of which has real-life ramifications) and giving it priority over the feelings of an entire group of people. I don't see what's the big deal in just not using the word "tranny", but do you. Maybe if the gay community could look beyond the rose-colored glasses of white cisgender male pretension, we could make bounding strides into a better and brighter future for the entire LGBT community. RuPaul comes from a place of 'what other people say about you doesnt really say anything about you but more about the person saying it' and he is sort of right no matter how insensitive it may come across.

He is right though. Abusive words such as she-male, f*ggot, and tranny can take different forms for each community. For example, there is a difference between a drag queen using the term tranny when referring to themselves then it is for a straight cis person to say it to a transexual on the street. Just like how there is a difference when a friend describes themselves as a "f*g hag" in comparison to some one who shouts out f*ggot on the street to some one.
